I made this unique plate from dark stoneware clay on the potter's wheel. The design includes straight beveled edges connecting to the base. I carved the outer edges and bottom with a simple hand tool. To create a contrasting effect, I applied a white matte glaze solely to the interior, leaving the black carved exterior unglazed. This decision accentuates the natural charm of the black clay, resulting in an exciting piece that showcases the art of pottery.

Care

I craft all my work from high-quality stoneware clay and food-safe glazes without lead. All of my work is dishwasher safe, though I recommend hand washing. You can also put it in the oven or microwave, but as with all handmade pieces, the better you care for them, the longer they stay with you.
